watercolor and pastel on 'tea' paper
13x18cm / ~5x7in
a sky you'd see above the ocean, a drawing you'd find in a beach house, nostalgic and chill
In spring of 2020, I was in confinement and without supplies of paper. I started using paper from food products that I was buying (as in my clouds series from 2020). So, I carefully unfolded tea bags after using them and let them dry so I could reuse them as the base for pastel and watercolor. The sky became an obsession for me at this time, a connection to nature and a sense of more.
The tea paper is thin and fragile, but backed with a thick paper (lightly glued) so that you can hang it simply or in a frame.
